Text príspevku číslo 2044:
Hi everyone
I'd like some information and advice.
I live in the Leics area of the UK. My wife has symptoms that look
like MS in some ways. But despite years of pain and other things, our
doctor has failed to make a proper diagnosis.
My wife's symptoms include pain in the back and other joints that
could be arthritic, but the doctor hasn't even diagnosed arthritis.
She gets misplaced ligaments that respond to massage for a short
time. Also she often gets confused about whether it's hot or cold,
and has developed some short-term memory problems.
She has recently also started to experience spasms in the limbs,
especailly first thing in the morning. If she dunks herr feet into a
bowl of hot water with some Epsom salts in it (magnesium sulphate),
this seems to bring some temporary relief.
So the questions I'd like to ask are;-
1. Is there a handy summary of MS symptoms that an ordinary person
can follow?
2. Does my description sound like MS to you? If not, does it sound
like anything else you've come across?
3. Is there a way of getting tested independently from our own
doctor in the UK? (maybe through NHS Direct?)
I'm starting a mega Internet search for information as well, but
there's nothing like your own experience for giving clues.
Any help or advice you could give would be most welcome.
